Point90 Cinema
Building on its long-standing experience in the exhibition business, MIF inaugurated Point90 in mid-2015 across the street from the American University in New Cairo. As the first high-end Cineplex in New Cairo, Point90 marked a milestone in the local cinema landscape.
The complex features 10 halls and an MX4D theatre, all equipped with the latest audiovisual technology. Designed to offer a homey feel, Point90 provides a welcoming movie-going experience for families, single adults, and teenagers alike.

MX4D Cinema
Misr International Films has signed an exclusive deal with MediaMation, developers of the MX4D® Motion EFX technology, to bring the newest evolution in the 4D cinema experience to Egypt. With MX4D®, seats move and special effects are triggered in sync with the on-screen action, allowing the audience to “feel” the movie’s motion, jolts, pokes, wind, water, even scents.
MIF concurrentAly launched two MX4D screens by the end of 2016, of an 80-seat capacity each, in its flagship Cairene cinemas Plaza and Point90.

About Zawya
Zawya is a Cairo-based independent cinema platform with a mission to showcase and circulate quality films. Established in 2014 following six successful editions of the Panorama of the European Film, Zawya Cinema offers a diverse program of films from across the globe including features, shorts, documentaries and experimental works in the form of releases, retrospective and curated programs. In addition to its regular program, Zawya organizes two film festivals annually: the Panorama of the European Film and Zawya Shorts.
In 2015, Zawya Distribution was launched to create an alternative distribution model, bridging the gap between independent films and their audiences. Following four successful years of operating a single screen in Cinema Odeon, Zawya relocated in September 2018 to Downtown’s Cinema Karim to manage two screens with a combined capacity of 387 seats. Zawya is a member of the Network of Arab Alternative Screens (NAAS) and is supported by Misr International Films.
