MIF Distribution Brief - March 2022

From the last quarter in 2020 to this day, MIF Distribution has had the combined pleasure and challenge of distributing a variety of Egyptian productions in movie theatres across the country and recording several success stories, driven by the belief that all players needed to come together and ensure the survival of a long-standing local motion picture industry during and past the COVID pandemic.

One of the highest-grossing Egyptian features of 2020, Al Sandooq Al Aswad, was not only distributed but also produced by Misr International Films. Black Box was distributed in 65 locations throughout the country, grossing almost 9M pounds while theatres were operating at 25% of their maximum capacities.

Our squad was also responsible for distributing Egypt’s top-grossing movie in 2021, Al Aref, in 100+ locations.

During 2022, MIF was also responsible for the distribution of comedies Men Agl Ziko and Hamel El Laqab that are respectively in their 14th and 10th running week across governorates.

In total, MIF has collaborated with 14 production houses and spearheaded the theatrical distribution of what amounts to a quarter of all Egyptian titles released during the past 18 months.
